Tuesday Sept 14th, 11pm"Plane Talking with Mick Bannister"  - featuring Izzi Ciesinska

Join “Plane Talking with Mick Bannister“ on Tuesday Sept 15th  @ 11pm Repeated on Wednesday @ noon when he talks with award winning children’s book Illustrator and film maker IZABELA (IZZI) CIESINSKA - and plays a selection of her favourite music tracksIzzi was hatched in a small town in Poland where her earliest influences were traditional Fairy-tale Classics by Hans Christian Andersen and the Grimm Brothers (she read them all, drew them all, and she smelled all the pages).

When she was seven her family settled in Canada where she discovered libraries, more books, and to her delight Disney cartoons! She immersed herself into the world of animation and watched and drew anything she could get her hands on. She even animated her own scenes only to discover that tracing 24 frames per second was easier seen than done. Her ambitions as an animator evolved into filmmaker, and many broken pencils and torn-up pictures later she moved on to illustrate over thirty five books, as well as write, direct, and produce a short film NEDE (available on YouTube). She is currently working on multiple illustration and film projects and working on a major film script. You can find out more about Izzy HERE

Fridays 8am

"Pop and Rock Legends with Bob and Mike"

Have you ever listened to 'Desert Island Discs' and thought about the music you might choose if you were placed under the spotlight? If you have and you have even got as far as compiling a list of your favourite tracks, then you will realise just how difficult it can be. What do you include ... but, more specifically, what tracks would you leave out? Give it a try by making a list of say, your favourite 15 tracks and see what you come up with! Do this tonight and then return to your list in the clear light of day and we wouldn't mind betting that you'll start adding different tracks and removing others.

If you are inspired by music and enjoy the prospect of making lists, then now is your chance to take up the 'Pop and Rock Legends' challenge that is being set by the show's presenters, Mike Barry and Bob Bluffield.
Bob sets the challenge: "We are looking for anyone that enjoys good music to select say a dozen or so tracks that have in some way influenced their lives or will bring back vivid memories - perhaps of a sun-drenched holiday, an adventure of the circumstances surrounding when you first met your partner. We'll then invite you to participate in the show for the entire two-hours when we'll play your tracks and ask you to tell listeners something about yourself, your tastes in music and the reasons why you have chosen the particular songs on your list. It's all a bit of light hearted fun really but it gives listeners ... or indeed other presenters ... the opportunity to be our guest and be put under the spotlight".

Several people have already been featured in this recent addition to the format of 'Pop & Rock Legends' including Lynn James from Sleaford; local painter and decorator Steve Tucker; Adrian Pinckard former director of Inter-Action; ex-Secklow Sounds presenter Caz Tricks; Woburn Sands resident Kevin Fuller and social psychologist Linda Corlett.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact Bob or Mike by posting on the 'Pop & Rock Legends Radio' Facebook page (HERE) or by emailing Bob at robertbluffield@gmail.com
