REWIND - in case you missed it
Poster Boy on Harry & Edna on the Wireless
Harry & Edna on the Wireless recorded a special Battle of Britain show at the IWM Duxford Museum and were fortunate enough to interview WW2 Spitfire pilot Squadron Leader Ian Blair.
On the show they replayed 15 minutes of the interview but they have another 30 minutes with Squadron Leader Blair which will be featured in a future programme.
After the interview Squadron Leader Blair told Harry & Edna his picture was used in a wartime poster.
A little research found an image of a dashing young airman who became the poster boy of the RAF during World War II. (For the original image, click HERE)
Squadron Leader Ian Blair, now 95, was 22 years old when the famous snap was taken in 1940 after his daring flying in north Africa earned him a medal.
But he didn’t realise his fame until two years later when, on a break in Bournemouth, he saw his face on a propaganda notice warning 'Careless Talk May Cost His Life'.
Pip pip!

"LIFESTYLE MK Can"
Lifestyle MK was getting fit in Milton Keynes this week. Join Audrey, Gill & with our usual features: Ashley ("How to Guru" gets back into exercise after a year off), Robb (Personal Trainer) teaches us how to make a protein shake, and which music we should be working out to, and Dr Jamie (Vet), talks about exercising our pets. We have an inspirational guest speaker joining us, Ro Linton - who has just (having finally taken semi-retirement) learned to swim ...and this week's Dave's Man Cave is about getting with WITHOUT the gym!
We discuss the MK to London bike ride, and bring you our feature on the Rugby which we were lucky enough to film at the MK Fanzone. .
Catch the show on mixcloud.
Next week we'll be talking about Amazing Animals. Tune in from 12 - 2 on Saturdays and Live the Moment with us.
